Midhurst Gymnastics Club was opened in September 2005 by its Head Coach, Steve Grubb. The aim of the Club is to provide a safe, effective and child friendly environment in which its members can participate in Gymnastics activities. The gymnasts work under the guidance of appropriately qualified coaches who have been screened by the CRB for their suitability to work with children.
The Club teaches girls recreational and advanced recreational gymnastics with all the gymnasts working toward British Gymnastics Proficiency Awards.
Midhurst Gymnastics Club is affiliated to the British Gymnastics Association and as such have adopted their Policies for Child Protection, Health, Safety and Welfare and Equity. In addition we have Codes of Conduct for all Coaches, Members and Parents. Copies of all Policies and Codes of Conduct are held on file at the Club available for perusal.
In March 2008, following an inspection of the way in which the Club was run, its policies and procedures, Midhurst Gymnastics Club was awarded Gym Mark, the quality 'kite mark' for Gymnastics, by British Gymnastics in partnership with Sport England. Since then the Club has passed annual assessments to retain this award.
